This Winter

The oddest thing about this winter (or lack there of) is that the weather has been fabulous. Normally Czech is a wet, cold, grey, tundra for the duration of the winter. But not this year, this year it's fairly warm. Only once or twice has it dipped below zero. Not only that the weekends have been GORGEOUS! Sunny and blue skies. Each time. It's freaking amazing. The only fear now is that the summer will be just a tepid and cool.

The Agency

I just found the new tv show, "The Agency" all about the Agency Wilhelmina in new york. All I can possibly say is "awesome". I go around here showing the agents here in Prague and they eat it up. Bookers are taking catch lines from one of the nasty bookers on the show. Many of my friends know the people on the show and watch in entranced or jump up and down saying, "I know that b*tch!".

Needless to say, "awesome" is the only word that applies here.

Beauty

I'm trying to move my beauty more into the realm of editorial styles that you typically find in places like London and New York. I love juicy saturated colors just as much as anyone, but sometimes I think it's the subtle control over everything that really shows your technical skills. I'd really like to master the technical aspect of shooting studio, even though I'm not so sure if in the market here (Czech) people really appreciate that. Oh well!

Paulina Porizkova

Marie Claire has a great video podcast online right now that has a great interview with Paulina Porizkova one of the former super-models. She's older now but in person is absolutly fabulous. She's smart, funny, witty and has a great sense of humor. Can't beat that! The photo is me with Paulina a few weeks ago. Funny enough, that's Daniela Pestova sticking out in the background behind my head.

Beauty Shoot

Here are some behind the scenes from a recent Beauty shoot that I put together. I'm reasonably satisfied with the pictures. The model was beautiful, but quite tired on the shoot so it was hard to hit the shots I was really looking for. I have a lot of pic's to look through, so I haven't yet settled on exactly how I want the story to feel.

War

This is a story that you really, really, really, must read. It's about a young couple who are trying to endure what this senseless war has done to one of them. You need to read it. It's another part of why war is simply unacceptable in all forms.

Fashion Week

Fashion week is going on in New York right now, and my old Roomate is there right now covering it. It's easy to keep up with on youtube though, so I don't really mind missing it. New York is bloody expensive and I've got some plans coming up for the summer that I want to stick with. Otherwise though, I sometimes think it would be pretty cool to be a fashion designer. It would be difficult of course (I am no good at drawing either which is a major problem) but I can't really think of anything that would be more interesting than designing clothing for women. Seeing a woman look really good in something you designer would be pretty satisfying.

That said, I can actually think of a number of other things that would be more satisfying and more interesting. So lets put fashion designer at like spot number 4 on my list. :-)

Czech Girls

I know these girls, they are models from here in Prague. They are truly a party in a bottle.

Double Booking

Recently I committed the faux pas of double booking myself. It was basically a misunderstanding by which I committed to something without realizing that I had indeed committed when in fact I was just thinking it over. Big problem. It's a bad thing to do because it's unprofessional, and unfortunately, we can't be in more than one place at one time. Somehow in the name of trying to work less, I'm still working more.

*sigh!*
